On his blog, Succeeding With Agile, Mike Cohn put together a list of all the things that should be visible within the ideal agile workspace:

  • Big Visible Charts
  • Additional feedback devices
  • Everyone on your team
  • The sprint backlog
  • The product backlog
  • At least one big white board
  • Someplace quiet and private
  • Food and drink
  • A window

I blogged about this before, but wanted to add some more points to the list:

  • Be in line of sight with team members – highly effective and helps communication no end
  • Big visible charts should be updatable in no more than a minute a day – these should run more or less on autopilot: anything that takes 10 minutes to prepare is a waste of your time and everyone elses
